The quintessential British and Vietnamese education program
- Right from grade 1, the duration of the subjects has been calculated and arranged in a methodical and scientific manner with 40% being Vietnamese subjects, 40% international subjects, and the remaining 20% being technical subjects.
- Entering grade 2, the program changes, with 40% Vietnamese subjects, 40% international subjects, and the remaining 25% for life skills subjects.
- In grades 3, 4, 5, Vietnamese subjects decrease from 40% to 32.5%, giving way to technical subjects (27.5%), with the remaining 40% still international subjects.
This includes:
- For the Vietnamese program, students will be exposed to subjects such as Mathematical thinking, Pomath practical application, Vietnamese language, appreciating literature, practising reading skills, and informatics.
- For the International program – Pearson Edexcel primary – students study subjects such as Maths, Science, and ESL (English as Second Language), delivered by experienced foreign teachers.
- Skills subjects include: Physical, art, thinking, self-service skills and cooking skills.
Experience the primary school STEM education method
- With this method at Hanoi Academy, students will apply their knowledge of 4 subjects: Science (S), Informatics (T), Engineering (E), Mathematics (M) and apply them to different contexts to solve problems and discover new knowledge more comprehensively and deeply.
- The subject equips learners with knowledge and skills related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (according to an interdisciplinary approach). As a result, students can apply to solve problems in daily life and have the opportunity to develop their competencies comprehensively.
Life skills, sports, arts and mental wellbeing
- More than 20% of classroom time is devoted to physical development, life skills and aptitude programs for students to nurture bravery and shape the character of a Global Citizen stepping confidently out into the world.
- Hanoi Academy primary students not only achieve high results in their studies, but also regularly participate and achieve high results in sports competitions, creative competitions, science and English competitions at home and abroad.
- The school’s main clubs include: sports club, art club, skills club and thinking club.
- In addition, the school also pays special attention to psychological counselling for students, helping students relieve stress, sharing difficult problems, giving students confidence and a feeling of safety when coming to school with teachers and friends.
Diverse forms of testing & assessment to promote student development
- Hanoi Academy evaluates students according to the standard framework of the Ministry of Education and Training with the aim of creating motivation and recognizing the efforts of each student.
- Innovating the form of assessment by project activities with History and Geography subjects. Through project work activities, students are more interested in the subject and enhance their ability to work in groups.
- In terms of knowledge, the school ensures the requirements to be met according to the general education program so that students can confidently participate in domestic and foreign competitions.
Exposure to a Primary program based on UK educational standards
- At Hanoi Academy, students from Grade 1 to Grade 5 receive a Primary education program based on UK educational standards. This program was developed by Pearson Edexcel, the UK’s largest provider of curriculum and assessment programmes.
- Using the Activelearn platform, Pearson’s teaching programs are applied including: “Wordsmith” program for English, “Abacus” program for Math and “Science Bug” program for Science.
Excited with competitions at home and abroad
- In order for students to have more opportunities to try and assert themselves, Hanoi Academy attaches great importance to cooperating with the Department of Education and Training and prestigious institutions to organize students to participate in district-level, city and international competitions such as: Math Arena; TOEFL Primary Challenge; UPU International Letter Writing Competition; and International Kangaroo Math (IKMC).
- Up to now, generations of Primary students at Hanoi Academy have won many awards, gold, silver and bronze medals in competitions to bring glory and pride to their families and schools.
